The
Wibau Company is one of the oldest and most known Asphalt Hot Mix Pants
in Europe. The quality of its plants was superior, albeit rather traditional.
In this field, in the second half of the century many radical innovations
shocked the market:
First of all the storming introduction of the so called “drum mix”
plants claiming to produce good pre-mix without making use of the “dry
screening” procedure and the subsequent separate mix operation in
the traditional “pug mill”.
Traditional Asphalt pre mix Plants were huge stationary equipment, while
modern job sites, especially in the developing countries required lean,
easily transportable plants. In upgrading the traditional line of WIBAU
Asphalt Plants, Niarb proved itself to be the
right partner for this excellent German Company. Furthermore, the Asphalt
pre mix produced by all pre mix plants must be spread on the upper surface
of the road by means of Asphalt Pavers.

This is one of the first transportable Hot-Mix Plants manufactured
by WIBAU in the late seventies.
In spite being of the traditional type (one can easily see the separate
dry screening group and the independent “pug-mill” thereunder)
its compact structure is very advanced.
Niarb used this study as the starting point for developing the successful
“supermobile” Pre mix Plants designed by Niarb for BERNARDI,
as described in the next pages. |

WIBAU sales organisations urged the board of directors to add a paver
line to the traditional Wibau Asphalt Plant Line.
Only Niarb’s already full available know-how could enable Wibau
to start immediately manufacture a complete Asphalt Paver line.
Designing a complete line of Asphalt paver is a rather heavy task for
a company wanting to start from scratch
.
A Wibau rubber tire mounted asphalt paver working on a job site in Germany.
This model shows the typical Niarb design line, world wide made known
by Simesa products.
Niarb fully supported the manufacturer, not only with construction drawings,
but also with all ancillary technical means, as e.g. instruction manuals,
technological explanatory support material etc.
In fact, the market requires not less than 3-4 models of Rubber Tyre Mounted
Pavers and not less than 2-3 models of Crawled mounted pavers, in order
for a new company to quickly put itself in a position to compete with
already well-established paver manufacturers.
